Micromax is apparently preparing the launch of a new
Lollipop based handset called the Canvas Play. The
revelation was made by the company's website, so the
information is coming from a legitimate source.
The Canvas Play smartphone, by the looks of it, will follow
the recent unveiling of the Canvas Spark, which packs a
midrange hardware. Unlike the latter though, the Canvas
Play is revealed to be packing a larger 5.5-inch display,
compared to the 4.7-inch display on the Spark.
The resolution of the display is an unflattering 480x854
though, which suggests it won't be an expensive
smartphone. Unfortunately, the listing doesn't offer details
on the pricing of the handset, but we're assuming it will be
somewhere around the Rs. 6,000 mark, considering the
hardware on board.
The Canvas Play is also revealed to be sporting a 1.3 GHz
quad core Mediatek MT6582M processor, while there's 8GB
of storage on board. There's a microSD card slot as well,
which will let you expand the storage by up to 32GB.
The highlight of course is the default operating system,
which will be heavily marketed by Micromax. Read on for
the complete hardware
