Microsoft Lumia 540 is the latest Windows phone for you this month

We've lost the count of number of Lumia phones that are selling in the market right now and to make matters worse (or better) they've just added another one (thanks for that). The numbers just keep getting added and the mathematicians out there at Microsoft seem to be focused on building up their SKU scale.
The latest Lumia to join their stable is Lumia 540 and moving away from the realms of budget conscious, this one seems to be aimed at better hardware-equipped consumers. It gets a bigger display than the ones we came across earlier this year and somehow fills in the tight vacuum between Lumia 640 and the rest.
It features a 5-inch 1280x720p display running on Windows Phone 8.1 out of box and packs a quad-core Snapdragon 200 chipset with 1GB RAM supporting operating ably. It gets 8GB storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD and a 2200mAh battery unit embedded inside.
The phone comes fitted with an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, while on the front Lumia has become this selfie-camera phone with a 5MP shooter these days. It supports dual-SIM but only confined to 3G/2G connectivity with rest of them completing the overall package.
The phone has been listed 'Coming Soon' and with Microsoft that's more or less fortnight's time away. Lumia 540 this way becomes their third device to be introduced in space of 30 days with Lumia 640 and 640XL also making their mark recently. Interesting to see which way Microsoft goes with the price of Lumia 540, up north or down south. Ideally, they should be looking at a Lenovo A6000-like price for this device but considering the price pattern that the Redmond-based company has followed till date, we can't discount the sight of having a sub Rs 12K pricing for this one.
