Xiaomi Redmi 2 was recently introduced in Indian and Redmi 1s users are still waiting for KitKat on their smartphone. Your wait for Android Lollipop is now over because Syhost recently released CyanogenMod 12 (CM12) for Redmi 1s and RIL bug which was present in the Mokee Lollipop build by Syhost is now fixed in this ROM. This ROM is personally tested by me and so far only MAC address issue is the only bug will explain this below.
This ROM can have bugs and there is a slight possibility that your device could be bricked, Please proceed with caution and if aren’t familiar with terms like flashing, recovery and roms you better leave the website ASAP.
Please Note – This process will void your smartphones warranty and there are chances of instability because the ROM is still in the development phase.
Important – Flashing a custom ROM needs to wipe all your cache, dalvik cache, user data and system. Please backup all your essentials like photographs, videos, call logs, message logs etc etc. Please don’t blame us for any mishap to you and your device.
If you are continuing further then I pre-assume then you know the consequences of this process and you have installed a custom recovery on your smartphone.
Install CyanogenMod 12 (CM12) Android v5.0.2 Build for Redmi 1s aka Armani
- Now connect your smartphone to your computer and transfer the downloaded files to your smartphone. Root directory of SD card is preferred.
- Now enter into recovery mode by powering on your smartphone while holding Volume Up and Power On key simultaneously.
- Inside recovery Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache, System and User Data.
- After wiping all data select Install and then browse the file you transferred.
- Then Install Gapps.
- Reboot to system
Remember that First boot can take some time so be patient. Comment if any difficulty.
